Fractures

Each Fracture began as 3 x 3 inch, two-pound cube of moist stoneware. Utilizing a pastry blade the blocks were sliced, torn, stretched and twisted to their final form. Inner stress-textured surfaces were revealed suggesting a precious core. Works were then high fired and cold finished with multiple coats of colored spray lacquers and clear coats infused with colored metallic glitter. Like earlier work, somewhere during the process the pieces often dictated their own direction and final character. The pieces are all small, the largest dimension being five inches. The pieces all have multiple postures and are each shown twice in relative full scale. The numbering is for identification purposes only.
